Review on Silicon Power Marvel M01 32 GB, 1 pc. blue by Micha ochowski ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I recommend to buy, the product is of high quality.

For such money (1350, although now on the amazon the minimum price is 1160 in July 2022) it is quite a good product. Although the recording works at the speed of a decent usb-2.0 device, it doesn’t pull on usb-3 (that’s why the score is 4, not 5), but the reading is very good. During operation, the flash drive noticeably heated up, but did not burn hands, and this did not affect or almost did not affect the speed (at times there were slight subsidences in speed, but then it was restored). I checked by copying large and many small files in Windows 10, I did not use special tests. Tested only one day, so I can not say anything about reliability. Before use, I recommend reformatting to exFAT, if the OS supports it (Win Vista SP1 and higher, read-only on Linux, or you need to rebuild the kernel yourself with this feature), or NTFS / ext4 / or whatever you have, because on FAT32 files > 2 GB. you can’t write it down, and the speed and wear of the flash drive will be far from optimal.

Pros
  • Reading speed of large files via USB-3 ~ 100 Mb/s. (the maximum that I observed when copying is 102 MB / s. ) Relatively stable write speed.
Cons
  • The speed of reading small files is low, jumping from tens of Kb / s. up to several Mb / s. The recording speed of both large and small files is ~ 25 Mb/s, the maximum I have observed is up to 32 Mb/s, when writing small files the speed, if it sags at times, is hardly noticeable. By default, for some reason, it is formatted in FAT32, which is at least strange for a 128-gig flash drive.
