Bit Storage Case Idea

I had a recent incident where my cutter box fell over and all my bits, screws, bearings etc spilled onto the floor and under cabinets so I needed a better solution. I came across this styrofoam storage tray while looking through cutting storage box ideas and got the idea to use it in a cheap storage box for large parts from Harbor Freight that I had laying around. It fit perfectly in one dimension, and I trimmed about an inch from the other side with a sharp utility knife for an interference fit. This works great, but I just want the combination of holes to be different. I have a lot more 1/4" bits than 1/2" bits so a lot of the 1/2" bits aren't currently used, but overall it works really great. And the remaining plastic storage bins are great for storing other small items.

Pros
  • Whether you have 100 bits or just a few, a foam bit tray is an economical and efficient way to keep your bits safe when not in use. CUTTER NOT INCLUDED
Cons
  • No Power
