The scarf is beautiful. draped as in the photo. It's long and wide enough to create a shawl effect and soft enough to fold neatly. Perfect for the black cocktail dress. However, like other reviewers, the smell that permeates the material is not toxic. Ventilated in the fresh air - does not help. I tumble dried it with Febreze - it still smells. Finally, I took some fabric softener and ran it through the dryer again. Almost gone. But I have to use it for a fashion gala tonight. I hope the smell has evaporated enough to be imperceptible. So if anyone is thinking of buying one, give yourself at least a week or two to air it out.
