I used to have the same model and it worked very well for several years until I fell and broke the clear plastic shell/dome. So a replacement is needed. I was a little hesitant to buy it again after reading some of the reviews, but decided to buy it again, partly because it fit well in my storage space (not as wide as some of the other popcorn makers available) and also because I do thought that if it doesn't work as well as my old one then i can always use the base on my old one as i really only needed the new bowl/dome. The new upper matches the old base, but the new model works great so far. The only difference from the new one is that the agitator moves a little clockwise and then reverses a little counter-clockwise and then repeats for the duration of the cooking. I'm not sure why this change was made as it doesn't seem to make much of a difference in the end result. Like my old one, there are very few old maids left in the bottom of the bowl after cooking, and the popcorn comes out great when I stop cooking when few or more kernels appear to prevent scorching/burning. My only recommendation to potential buyers is that it is best to hand wash and not in the dishwasher to prevent the clasps from breaking.
