I did a lot of research before buying. I was looking for an inexpensive metal extension cord with a cord longer than 8 inches. and an on/off switch that I could toggle on and off with my foot. It seemed just right. As other reviewers have mentioned, the sockets are cramped and difficult to plug and unplug. But if you leave most devices plugged in, it's not a big problem. The 12 inch cable is great for my needs and the items are durable. However, the power button sometimes gets stuck and needs to be "rebooted". So it doesn't turn on as easily as I'd like, just with the help of my foot - half the time I'd say I have to use a very long shoehorn to turn it on. (It turns off easily though). Overall, however, it suits my needs and works well so far. It's also a lot better than other power strips in the same price range.
