Advantages: Suitable for various sizes and shapes of butter. Beautiful minimalist mid-century modern design. An entire metal structure won't shatter into a million pieces when your counter-surfer dog knocks it down. Cons: Loose lid. I was hoping it would be airtight but it just sits on the base. The base is too smooth. The oil has no texture to grip and no edge to prevent it from slipping off the base. Bottom line: I love this style and would definitely keep it, but I might add some steel wool to the base to give it some grip. .
