After a week of searching I finally bought them because they had the best reviews on the web. but the width was so big, even if I scaled down the full size, they sure would still be too big. I sent them back after not being very impressed. Thanks to everyone who mentioned the sizes in their reviews, I ordered the perfect size and will keep it. Maybe after a while I'll opt for the full leather version. So I spent 12 years in ballet in my youth and teenage years and now after a 30 year hiatus I want to go back there for the sake of wellbeing and health. I wear street shoes 7.5-8 and running shoes 8.5. My foot isn't wide but ok I would say it's narrow - most likely it's normal. I ordered the 5.5 listed here without specifying narrow or wide and they fit me like they were made for me. The elastic is not tight and the width just fits without rolling. They fit perfectly, so 6 would be too big. 5 might work as well, especially if you plan on stretching them out, but I think 5.5 is perfect. They look like a pair of thin socks so I don't know how long they will last. However, I will only be using them at home for barre practice, so I won't be testing them.
