UPDATE: I have a MacBook Pro and use the stand at night to watch movies etc. I don't use the stand when I use my keyboard a lot, my desktop is best for it . My husband's Dell laptop will not work with this stand as the battery sticks out at the back. HE REMOVES THE BATTERY PACK WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING WHY HE WOULD USE IT AND I ORDERED A STAND FOR HIM AND HE LOVED SO MUCH - SEE MY LATEST REVIEW WITH PHOTOS. The stand is incredibly strong and stable even when extended outwards. Adjustments are not achieved with a light touch. I have to hold on to the stand and push and pull properly. It's very rigid, but I believe this helps with stability. It's small, unobtrusive and simple. Very well done
