Well, apparently Rugged Ridge doesn't have any engineers. I regret installing this. Background :: My Jeep was bought used. Aftermarket XHD bumpers were already installed. It also came with 35-inch tires, which I think ruined the tailgate. This bracket was a natural fit as it had to match the bumpers. In theory. I'm telling you I will never buy their products again. never. Issues: 1. XHD bumpers had issues with misaligned bolt holes. Some of the screws just wouldn't go in. The build quality of the bumper is terrible. When I finally installed one of the screws, it was too tall. and disturbed the back flap! No joke. I had to take it off. I don't think it will hurt performance, but oh well! just too high to be of any use. Unbelievable. I'll include it anyway, but the details are important, and RR, you don't have to try your own stuff or you just say "okay!". I wonder how easy it is for someone to scratch that cotter pin. Actually I think I just use the extra washers that come in the kit. but still. 3. Tire mounting / A setting. This is where some thought can come in handy. Very bad design. I have attached a picture but eventually the tire will slip and hang over time. This is because the forces acting on the tire want it to come loose and fall off. I moved on and adapted, but no doubt this will need to be corrected over time. If they were smart, they would drill individual holes in the cord. I'm thinking about spot welding these things. Or wait until it sags and take a picture and post it here.4. The instructions are really bad. Basically not clear. Other comments show this. Additional parts, missing parts.6. The taillight screws were too long. In fact, I had to cut the screws with a saw. For real? Come on RR All in all it was just a stressful setup and honestly I'm almost ready to give it back. However, in this case it is on the vehicle and getting it back will be a big problem.
