Great desktop replacement

My 4 year old Digital Storm fans are dead. I was faced with a choice: fix the fan or get a replacement for a long aging system. Seeing this laptop with a much better graphics card than the old system, I decided to see if it would work as a replacement. All my data was on external hard drives. I connected them to the USB 3 ports and connected the keyboard and mouse through a USB hub. My monitor was connected via HDMI. External speakers were connected via the headphone jack. I connected my internet router to the ethernet port with an extension cable. My internet speed with the expander was the same as before using it. Thus, the laptop lies on the edge of the desk when the screen is closed. I never open it unless I want to use my camera for a Zoom meeting. It works just like desktop, only faster. I've only had the car for a month so I can't comment on durability. The cost was half that of a comparable desktop computer. If all your data is stored on external hard drives, a laptop like the Acer Predator 300 is a cost-effective alternative to a desktop.
