The right tool for the right job. I also had to work a little with them. But it worked almost perfectly. There were some issues where it could slip, if only at the top. If you can get a small screwdriver/pick to push the locking ring further into the tips, that's AMAZING. I also had some problems with deep inner rings. But hey, I get paid by the hour. If you have snap rings this size, you NEED this size pliers. You won't have a good time with inferior substitutes/hacks. Just pay attention to what tips you use, how they are oriented and how they are attached. Pliers can get in the way, just the back. It takes a little forethought, but if you have 1/4 mechanical brain you're good to go.
