2. UPDATE: Took less than a year.

2ND UPDATE (December 1, 2021): Well. it sucks. I think I jinxed the light by writing a glowing (heh) review. We still have two weeks of light before they practically go out of service. Remember that we only turn on the lights at dusk or late afternoon and turn everything off before bed. And they plugged directly into an outlet, not an extension cord. We noticed that a few days ago they started flickering and at first thought there was a power surge. Eventually they got very *very* bright for less than a second, which was alarming. But they got back to normal and we took care of them just in case. When I tried to switch the lighting mode to another function one evening, they began to flash unevenly, not one of the main functions. . When I tried to press the button again, nothing happened. After a few more clicks, the light just went off completely. They didn't turn back on until I unplugged the box from the wall and plugged it back in. And even then, they made a fancy gating and got out. After a few more tries, plugging it back in, and trying to press a button to change the setting, it finally switched to one of the slow fade options. I left it there. .But of course after about twenty minutes they started flickering strangely before going out. An issue may be where the pins meet the socket on the connector. Because if you gently push the body of the pen one way or the other when it's fully inserted into the socket, the light goes crazy. At first I thought it was an issue with the button itself - maybe it was worn out, something was broken inside, etc. But it's definitely an issue with the connector port somewhere. There is no way to get into the box. without breaking it and I also don't see how to contact the seller. I am very disappointed because we love these lights and have had them for about a month and a half. I understand they aren't very expensive and given the price it's unrealistic to expect them to last more than a couple of years, but I've had other Christmas lights in the past few years. And now they are nothing more than a garland. Unfortunately we could use it for that because we really don't want to just throw it in the landfill. I hope the seller sees this and offers a repair or replacement or something. It was so great and we are both very excited. Two stars only because they were pleasant while they lasted. UPDATED (early November 2021): This is a very late update but I have now attached two photos taken in December 2020 (last year) showing them going from bright white to warm. I'm not sure how or why it happened, but they really warmed up and it turned out beautifully. The first photo shows a close-up of a particular star that was bright white immediately and for several days after it was first strung on a tree; The second photo was taken on Christmas Day and shows how the stars have warmed significantly. Unfortunately, the useful part of the photo is blurry and in the background (and our faces have been blocked for privacy), but you can still see the colors have changed a bit. how many different functions, especially slow decay! I wish they were a little longer; One strand covers our 6 foot pencil tree, but if it wasn't a pencil it certainly wouldn't be enough. But you can buy another thread and link them, which we might do in the future. All in all it is recommended! These stars emit very bright white light. This was frustrating at first, but the fact that there are multiple emitting options - from constant and flickering to slow on/off and variable flickering - made up for it. For those with photosensitive epilepsy or any other sensitivity to lightning, be aware that there are at least two settings that are VERY powerful and annoying flashes. Raven box. When removing the flashlights from the bag, there was a very strong plastic/rubber smell. (I hope they're vented.) They don't come with a separate remote control, and there's no on/off switch for them on the power supply where the lighting effects button is. Therefore, in order to turn off these lights, they must be unplugged from the mains or, if connected to an extension cord, the extension cord must be turned off. Love the fact that they can be used outdoors and are pretty much color neutral; We could use them outside after the holidays. We don't have them on the tree yet, but as soon as they do I'll update the image to show how bright the white is.
