Correct. They are NOT washcloths (much larger) and NOT bath towels (much smaller). So something like a very long narrow towel! Not ideal for drying off after a shower and not textured enough to be used as a face wash. So I use them for water stains in bathrooms, bedrooms and living rooms. Not a good kitchen towel because coffee, chocolate, wine, etc. will stain those beautiful pale colors. The material feels like soft microfiber with an added touch of cotton, but that's impossible to say for sure as there's no label stating the percentage of material. Another very nice towel!
