Honestly these are my first reusable cotton pads so I have no comparisons other than disposable cotton pads. They are thinner than expected and larger than regular cotton swabs. They are soft but still scratch a little but nothing major. While I used 3-4 cotton pads for makeup removal I only used one which is very impressive. I haven't washed them yet and I'm curious to see how many stains come off. But honestly I want to try more reusable products. And the laundry bag is a nice touch
