In principle, it is possible to determine the design of the plates by deciphering S / N, but I will not describe the method for a long time, and the manufacturer's parameters may change. I like Seagate products more than WD products, WD analogues are also good, but often noisier and hotter, and vibration is more a regularity than a consequence. For those who notice vibration, the reason may also be the quality of your cases, cheap ones are usually made of canning sheet and do not absorb vibration, but amplify it, which cannot be said about expensive cases, weighing from 10-12 kg.

Pros

Very quiet and fast model on 2 platters, maximum read speed 206.1 MB / s, minimum: 96.1 MB / s, due to the density of 1TB, thin and beautiful technocratic case design, adequate price, bought cheaper than sold now. No vibration at all! I came across such a unique copy, compared to the "miracle vibrators" on the 7200 from WD, the disk is completely invisible, when reading / writing information, the heads do not stand out with a noticeable crunch, a dull sound is heard coming from the bowels of the disk case, absolutely not acting on nerves sound. A low level of heating, at idle in the region of 33-34 g, under load, when copying 1.5 TB of data on the stand, it warmed up to 39 g, without active cooling.

Cons

Warranty period 24 months, flimsy, not protected from fur. damage to the packaging, the need to disable APM, otherwise the disk will constantly click and the parameter (C1) Load Cycle Count in smart will constantly grow, and the number of parking spaces included in the disk software is not infinite, the most radical way to disable it is to create the hdparm startup task in the Windows Task Scheduler -B 255 /dev/hda (where the last letter is the disk number in the system), when loading the OS and exiting sleep, you can put a hidden task completion attribute, you won’t see anything on the screen, the counter (C1) should increase by one, only with each turning on the disk, if you have so, then congratulations parking is disabled. The AAM option is disabled on many Seagate drives. No ated firmware, bought with FW CC24, Made in China. The only sound from the disk is hissing from the rotation of the magnetic platters.
