I needed bases for my floorstanding speakers. They needed help. I ordered two Catskill cutting boards, solid, 1 1/4 inch thick, and a set of these spikes. I made a simple square guide out of cardboard so each point is 1/2 inch from each corner on the cutting boards. .voila! Two beautiful speaker stands. A limitation; The sticky "rounds" are a bit difficult to use. Patience is required to separate and apply clear adhesives.

Placed under spikes that can be mounted on floorstanding speakers, they can protect wood or tile floors from scratches and damage, while the spikes separate the speaker enclosure from the floor, improving overall sound quality.
