Shrinky dinks were the coolest stuff when I was a kid so I decided to share them with my 5 and 7 year olds. Watching them curl and melt in the oven is a kid's right of way, much like assembling Lego and baking chunky cupcakes in a basic oven. Every child should have the opportunity to do this at least once. Luckily, shrink dinks have only gotten better and better over time (unlike light baked goods). When I was a kid, you would draw your own picture and then carefully cut it out, preferably without jagged edges. If you wanted a keychain, you had to dig a hole punch. (Do they still make hole punches?) This kit did all the hard work for you, so you can sit back and paint without worrying about making the right size hole to thread onto your necklace or earrings. My kids love it and honestly I do too. It is so much fun! So why 4 stars and not 5? Well, these are hoops for earrings. They're cheap and honestly I wouldn't wear them let alone give them to my daughter. In fact, this is only a small disadvantage. This is a great set and we're happy to give it away as a gift after having fun with it ourselves. :)
