I bought this hair straightener with great expectations and was very disappointed. It grabs your hair at the ends where the ceramic plates meet the handle. It also leaves inevitable kinks in your hair no matter how hard you try to make smooth strokes. And most importantly, it's very difficult to grab the hair - I can feel my hair sliding through the plates with no resistance! My hand hurt after a few minutes of use from squeezing the handle so hard just to get a decent grip. Also, my hair was still pretty frizzy when I finished, so the "smoothing factor" could have done some work. The only positives are the fast heat-up time and the very long plates. Will come back immediately. Terrible iron.
