Works right out of the box, great value!

These remote control battery packs and charging station work very well straight out of the box. Simply insert the batteries into the remote control, put on the cover and place it on the charger. When charging, the charging indicator turns red, and when charging is complete, it turns blue. Yes, the charging cable is a bit short, but that suited me since I placed the charger next to the outlet. I just plug the remote into the charger every few days and they're always ready to go. Great price, great quality. All is well!
