Until I bought this lens I was very dissatisfied with my new Sony a 6300. I have a whale lens, 16x50. Did a couple of photoshoots with it, thinking that OSS or image stabilization would have helped a lot. I was completely wrong. When I received the Sigma 30 1.4 I was thrilled. It literally made me want to take more photos. Getting background separation when using a fast lens makes a big difference. Your photos will instantly look more artistic and professional. I just hated my Sony until I got her a good lens. And while this lens is inexpensive, DXOMark rates it as one of the sharpest in the Alpha series. I know everyone uses the phrase "required" but this is one of those things.
