Works seamlessly and efficiently. That's exactly what you want from a device like this. It charges via the included USB and is said to have a battery life of up to 10 hours - I would charge it fully from scratch as the first charge often dictates future battery life. The build quality is good, plastic with a rubberized grip, but nothing to complain about. Lightweight and easy to hold and manoeuvre. I would say don't throw away the instruction manual as it has some example barcodes as well as some needed for setup. register with - I tested this with our internal book release system at the library at work and it worked well with barcodes already in place.
