This pen comes ready to use. I like that it doesn't rely on Bluetooth. I bought an HP Envy from Costco and was looking for a OneNote pen. Other disc styluses only work when "draw by touch" is selected, but palm recognition does not work. This pen works great and doesn't need to use "draw by touch" which means the palm rejection works. I love this pen and it's about 30% cheaper than the equivalent HP pen. I just wish it would work with the iPad too, but no.
