I don't know why fittings aren't a standard size. My old hose went through a connector at the bottom of my closet. It has to be pushed through, and getting it back is next to impossible. In fact, this has not been possible until now. I let it hang And if you pull the thing all the way, all the way, then I'm afraid the hose will break off the fittings, that's exactly the length that's described. However, plan to lower the specs by about 5 feet. I've used it once and I'm thinking it's going in the bin and I'm looking for a different product.
