For about six months, every time I started the Lincoln MKT, I heard this click click click noise coming from the center of the dashboard. After reading the Ford and Lincoln blogs I found that this is a common problem with the recirculation damper. To test, I turned the recirculation switch off and on again and was able to reproduce the annoying click, click, click. I've read the installation guide and it's pretty easy once you know how to change the cabin air filter through the glove box. Simply remove the screws from the mounting bar inside the glove box, lower the door by gently pressing on the side of the compartment next to the pass-through door and the glove box will fall down to reveal the cabin air filter with two screws right above. Holding in an existing servo. Loosen the two screws and carefully pull the servo out of the air conditioning housing. Then insert the replacement by gently rotating the servo until it lines up with the holes, then replace the bolts, raise the glove box, reattach the rod and bolts and close the glove box. No noise! and all for the price of this servo and about 40 minutes of my time.
