This killed my port after 2 years and 4 months

I think it killed my port. Suddenly this hub stopped working so I figured it was just a Sabrent hub. nope The port is dead. I tried to connect USB directly to the port, nothing is read. Bought in September 2015 and my port - the only port it was connected to - is dead. I put two stars in case it's a coincidence but I doubt it. It also doesn't have an SD/microSD card reader, which my new one will have. Also, this will only go into the first hub. It doesn't fit others because the bottom part doesn't fit the bottom of the monitor. I have a 27 inch iMac.
