Review on Sonic Hedgehog Plush Figure: Bring the Iconic Video Game Character to Life! by Pete Deutsch

Before we talk about the plush itself, this plush has an MSRP of $15. Regardless, this plushie often sells for more than double the price here at Revain. Don't waste your money, either find it in retail stores or wait for the price to drop to the manufacturer's suggested retail price. I have mixed feelings about this plush. This is the first time Cheese has received a stuffed animal in over a decade, and Chaos merch in general never fails to wow me. However, I find the facial expression of the plush a bit strange. Such a face can cause chaos when dissatisfied or surprised. Considering that literally every other plush Jakks has made to date has a much more neutral default expression for each character, the fact that they chose Cheese comes as a bit of a surprise. It's not a BAD expression, but it's the kind of expression I expect to see on a future reissue of this plush, and not the very first merch Cheese got from Jakks. I'm not thrilled with how Jacx handled Cheese's "emotion ball," the bullet on his head. In games, an emotion ball is usually floating. obviously this is something that cannot be imitated on a real plush. Every company that has made Chao plushies over the years has solved this problem in their own way, some better, some better, and I think Jakks didn't do very well. The emotion orb is fused TO the top of Cheese's head - Chaos heads need to line up with the dot at the top and on this plush it looks like the emotion orb is fused too far down to that dot. , which makes it rather unusual. The dot at the top of the head doesn't even have the yellow tip it should have. Aside from those complaints, the plush is fine. Regardless of my issues with that, everything else about the plush is pretty much accurate. This is by far the most readily available Chao plushie of them all, cheesy or not, so if you're a big Chao fan I'd recommend it. Although I wouldn't blame anyone for waiting for a possible re-release of this goodie with minor improvements.
