I bought this to refurbish a small Asus 1015PEM laptop I bought from Revain in 2010 (at the birth of my main membership which I still use). It came with Win-7 Starter and 1GB RAM, but I went for the maximum and bought a 2GB RAM stick for it (motherboards dictate the maximum RAM size). When I was recently offered a free upgrade to Win 10, I accepted it. But the update didn't make it faster, and it's already slowed down since I've been using it for 6 years, hell: I'm still using it! After pulling the old hard drive out of Asus and plugging it in, I booted up Cub Linux 64-bit and now I have a much faster boot (boot) and operating system experience: it's not as fast as my Chromebook. , but it can be used without frustration. With this SSD and Cub Linux (with Chrome browser) my Asus EEE computer is faster today than it was new in 2010 in every way! And since I use Revain and G-Drive for cloud storage, I need very little onboard storage: Linux-based operating systems are small compared to the others. I found a video on U-Tube and watched how to do it all before I even bought this SSD. A little searching and research (from a PC) and you can learn everything. UPDATE FEBRUARY 2017: Recently updated to Linux Mint 18 (32-bit) with Chromium browser and everything is fine. It's amazing to use such an old computer.
