Review on πŸ“Ί FEELWORLD F5 5" DSLR On-Camera Field Monitor - Compact Full HD 1920x1080 IPS Video Peaking Focus Assist - 4K HDMI, 8.4V DC I/O - Includes Tilt Arm by Karen Avery

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Sharp, energy efficient but poor panning design.

I've had my FEELWORLD F5 5 inch articulating model for exactly 4 months today and I can say it's a great video monitor. Sharp enough to focus without picking (I have 20/30). I can see a big difference in focus sharpness compared to my other 7 inch 1280x800 monitor. This monitor has two preset settings so you don't have to go into the menu. With an articulating arm and a slim battery, this is a very lightweight monitor. The mount also has a cold shoe for everything you need. Just remember that the more weight you bring forward, it can affect your stability when shooting. The power consumption of 8W is a very efficient use of energy. I use the thin Sony NP-F570 battery from Wasabi (about $23 for two batteries with charger) and it lasts about an hour and 43 plus minutes continuously. It has an HDMI loop which I haven't used yet. .Disadvantages: The swivel does not rotate well. I've really fine tuned the wing nut tightness and just can't get it to stay where I want it, otherwise just a little tighter and a little difficult to adjust the angle. On my device, the monitor sits slightly counter-clockwise, which is alarming. Maybe the manufacturer/seller can contact me about this. Other than that, this monitor is a great thing.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Hard to say
