I usually carry a fanny pack when I go for a run, but I only carry my phone and wallet with me. This backpack allows me to carry everything plus a water bottle. Check! It has a bungee cord that keeps water in the holster, but I still had a bad habit of holding it while running. Although it was perfectly safe. If you put a water bottle in, I recommend carrying it on your side or back so you don't hit it with your hands. This backpack is adjustable and very comfortable to wear, I forgot I was wearing it. I definitely recommend it.
