This is what you need if you have an older Ford Focus with a misaligned ignition keyhole. Mine started behaving and after a thorough Google search and some searches on a few Ford Focus websites I found that this was a common problem. This ignition cylinder is the solution and I would say do it now even if you have no problem. At some point the key just won't turn anymore. You don't want to wait until then. It requires drilling to remove and is primarily made of hardened steel. Not an easy or simple task. However, this is a relatively simple procedure. If your key still turns, it is very easy to remove and replace it. This kit includes all the toggle switches you need, lithium grease and detailed instructions on how to replace the cylinder with car keys. It's pretty straight forward. Just take your time and everything should be fine. I was able to turn mine on all at once, in about 20 minutes. There is also a YouTube video for this. I had to get mine soon because my car was useless as it was. It was sent and arrived the next day. I paid a little more but far from what the dealer was trying to charge me. That would be almost 500.00 Canadian dollars including taxes. The purchase of a switch alone is $165.00 CAD plus tax. I did it for a much smaller amount and if you don't rush anywhere you can save more. I highly recommend this update. This cylinder switch is much stronger and better quality than the one that came in from the factory. This was supposed to be a Ford recall, it's clearly defective.
