This is a solid knitting needle set specially designed for beginners. I love that it comes in such large sizes that it's hard to find anything larger than a size 17 in replacement cords. The cable itself attaches easily and seems secure enough, although I wouldn't twist it too much when knitting for fear it might come loose. The downside for me is that the cable is very thick and not very flexible so definitely good for a magic loop. But it's still a great set of needles, especially considering the price. I can confirm that you can use Denise's pieces with this set, it's just a tighter fit.
