Elegance Simple: Anderson 221 Waterhog Polypropylene Fiber Entrance Mat -> Photos <- [The Anderson Company]

This rug is simple and elegant. No frills elegance. Easy. This is what I want. The rug is 22-1/2 inches wide and 36 inches long. The back is black with small blunt protrusions spaced about 1/8 inch from the others. These little protrusions seem to keep the rug from slipping. It stays where it is on the wooden floor. I don't have rugs at home so I'm not sure they will stay anchored. I bought a dark brown Diamond Anderson 221 Waterhog rug. ) and stands up within a minute when unrolled on the floor. The top of the mat has grooves about 1/4 inch deep to collect ice and snow from your boots. I'm not sure what (or where) the "designer border" is on this rug. It's just the same material that the rest of the rug is made of. Someone has shown great resourcefulness in the marketing department. Maybe it's an option in another store. All the photos I've seen have a flat frame. I love this rug and will already buy another one because of its characteristics. We've had three snowstorms since I bought this mat and it's big enough on the tailgate to keep ice and snow right there. I also use a mat to temporarily store these winter boots until they dry. The "water dam" seems to be doing its job. The carpet seems to dry quickly as advertised. Also, we use sand and salt and there was no degradation of the mat. Nice. The fabric does not wrinkle at all, and in winter this entrance is used the most. It has withstood traffic, ice and snow very well. I have to say that for the price this is a very large rug with deep channels and has been put through its paces in the last two weeks of winter storms. I give this rug 5 stars because it effectively prevents snow, ice and water from entering the home and not spilling onto the floor. ---------------------------------- ------------------------------ -------------------- ----NOTE: 05/2015; This rug is still going strong. No breaking, cracking, slipping or leaking. Definitely recommend this rug. UPDATE: 09/2018; This rug is a marvel of durability. After 4 winters in New England it is still standing, not falling apart and still holding water in the channels. I love this rug.
