I say "was doubtful" because I didn't quite understand what to expect when I ordered it. As soon as I took it out of the box and attached it to a shelf in my closet, I knew it was a good choice. Very easy to install. Very easy to put on and take off hats. You can move the holders around the main rope (yes, it's a rope, whatever. It works.) so you can display each cap the way you want. I personally used a left/right diagonal checkerboard view so I could easily see each hat. So far very happy with this item. If you have many hats stacked in the corner of your shelf. Take it.
