Review on Oakley Flak Jacket Sunglass Replacement Lenses & Sock Kit By BLAZERBUCK by Chad Gue

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Disappointed good for me

I purchased the XLJ version of these lenses. At first was happy with the purchase. Clarity maybe not as good as original lenses but good enough for the price. Lenses are a little thinner than Oakley's so the fit isn't quite as tight but stayed in fine. The quality of the reflective coating, however, is terrible. I'm pretty gentle with my glasses (have traditionally only used branded lenses so take care of them). Any time these lenses were exposed to sweat, salt water, or dusty conditions, I'd gentle rinse in plain water after. Only cleaning materials used were gentle soap and water and soft cloths. Within 2 months of modest use, the reflective coating started to "dissolve" dramatically (see pic). Was hoping these would be cost effective vs Oakley lenses but if need to be replaced every couple months, I'd probably be better off with the real deal.

Pros
  • Fit perfectly...great product
Cons
  • The sock may not be water-resistant, causing damage to the sunglasses during rain or water-based activities
