I have two medium sized house cats. I give them a can in the morning, divided between two and a quarter cups of any good quality dry food, in the evening. They love this wet food. I feed them before my morning shower and by the time I get to work they're gone, their plates licked clean. Wet food is vital to a cat's diet as it usually contains more protein than dry food and definitely contains more water. Cats have little thirst and are usually, if only slightly, dehydrated. In addition, cats are obligatory predators that love to hunt: they crave chunks of meat. My cats will not touch pie, not even the pie version of this Friskies product. I am not a vet but my last cat died partly due to lack of proper nutrition. He was old but had kidney problems from cheap cat food, too high in minerals and not enough water to flush them out. I vowed my next cat wouldn't suffer the same fate, even though cats often have kidney problems. Mine are still 7 years old and in the best of health: they've been eating this product for almost 6 1/2 years.
