I like this aerobic septic tank as it only needs to be used 4 times a year instead of 12. I've been using one brand or another of these types of products for many years, but until they all had to be added once a month. Instead of monthly sachets that you flush down the toilet into a septic tank, this product is loose granules but works the same way (you flush it down the toilet into a septic tank). There are two treatments in one box, so it lasts six months. Having used similar products on my system regularly for years, I didn't feel the need to use shock therapy first, so I went straight to maintenance. The box contains 18 ounces of product and the directions say rinse half and save the other half to use after three months. I went ahead and weighed 9 ounces on my postal scale, not daring to put my eyes to it. I flushed 9 ounces down the toilet then weighed what was left in the box and sure enough there was exactly 9 ounces left next time. I used a sharpie marker to write the date in 3 months on the box to remind me when to wash off the second half of the treatment. All 9 ounces rinsed well in one rinse. Before rinsing I gave it a few seconds for all the pellets to submerge in the water so maybe that helped. In general I am satisfied with this product. It's hard to tell how well this works because I'm not going to open my spice tank and check it out lol. But the product is similar to others that I am satisfied with. Dry, odorless, easily washable. And the natural bacteria and germs in this product are safe to use and ensure my septic tank has plenty of garbage eaters to keep it working properly.
