Review on πŸ’§ Watts WP500313 Undercounter Reduced Drinking Water System by Paul Sanchez

Delicious water, manufacturing and shipping quality problems

Initial inspection just a week after installation; apartment before moving. Replacement filters are common and inexpensive. Remember that filters must be washed before drinking water; Run water through the filter at least 5 minutes before drinking. Some people don't seem to read or understand the instructions about water filters, this goes for everyone. The water that comes out of it is very clean, very tasteless. This works very well. The flow is average. It takes maybe 10 seconds to fill a large glass of water. Installation is easy, I'm not sure if people are talking about swapping out the lines right away, but it's probably not a bad idea. The plastic fittings should be fine as long as they aren't over tightened, unfortunately it looks like they come with a wrench from the factory. See my other comments below. Opening the box, I notice that there is almost no inner packaging, the block is in the box, there is a package with fittings for the bow. However, the two fastening screws for the whole device were loose in the box, not packed or glued anywhere, I'm surprised they didn't fall out of the ground, that's a stupid mistake. I hooked up all the plumbing under my sink and turned on the water and was met with water splashing everywhere. The funny thing was that I checked for a leak in all the connections I made, but the leak was actually in the 90 degree plastic fitting coming out the side of the filter unit. Either the Superman at the factory overtightened it, or he overdid it, or the manufacturer wasn't the same and the plastic ripped. A trip to the store and I was able to replace it with a 90 degree brass fitting and plug everything back in, no leaks.
