I wired them straight up by cutting the power cord and connecting it to an existing wire that already went to the switch. This was very easy and the various attachment options (double-sided adhesive pads, adhesive clips and small screws) made it easy to hide the entire cord from washer to washer. They are bright enough and have easy adjustments on the remote if anyone finds the light too bright. A great option for anyone looking to replace an existing under cabinet light. I had halogen bulbs that were installed when we originally remodeled our house ten years ago and they kept getting too hot (melting candy bars in the upstairs cabinet). It was perfect! Highly recommend (I've flipped and remodeled houses professionally in the past so I have some experience. But they don't require a professional to install).
