Now shifts pretty well, here's the story for 2nd generation Odyssey people: I just understood that this van comes from a family friend, 177,000 km, overhauled transmission adjusted to 105,000. The fluid was ATF-Z1 which was changed to 145K at a Honda dealer with an unspecified fluid. It shifted very well, but I was concerned about the fluid it contained and the durability of the gearbox. I have replaced the fluid (drain and fill) with Amsoil 2x branded ATF on several vehicles and I can find that the shifts are stiffer which is what I expected. On the third drain and fill I poured a bottle of black grease and now the shifts aren't as good as the Honda fluid but they are good and I'm hoping the combination of Amsoil and Lubegard will stop the transmission. of the need for further restoration in the future.
