Updated July 2021: The company told me they believe I bought the wrong lamp. They refunded my purchase and allowed me to keep my existing lightbulb. -------------- I bought this bulb for Optoma Hd28dse. The apron/lamp housing didn't seem to want to fit in the space without some sort of force being exerted that made me uncomfortable. To assemble it I had to remove the shroud and replace it with a shroud from the original bulb. Once I did it seemed to fit just right. It was a bit easier that the screws for the replacement cover matched the original. Then it's time to connect the lamp to the projector via the pigtail. Again, the braid didn't seem to fit or snap properly. Also, there was no discernible notch or groove to indicate proper orientation/ensure you didn't plug it in backwards. Again, I had to remove the pigtail from the original lamp and replace the pigtail with this one. It took some care to make sure I had the right connector on the right post. Once that was done I was able to put the bulb back into the case and carefully reattach it, making sure the wires were connected properly. The whole process took less than an hour, so it wasn't too bad, but I also consider myself fairly nimble, willing and able to figure out simple wiring and such. After installing the light bulb, the projector lit up and two weeks later the picture was beautiful, bright and colorful.
