Review on RYKA SKY WALK Walking Frost by Sarah Codina

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Surprisingly disappointing

I was wearing a bright orange Saucony Cohesion 9 hiking shoe and wanted to find a new pair, less 'neon'. Unfortunately, shoe manufacturers seem to think that "hiking shoes" are only worn by people in their 70's, and they want their shoes to look like orthopedic shoes (no disrespect, especially if you're 70 and want fun sneakers). Whether everything is white, brown or black. But no problem, if you want to look stylish, fun, young, etc. you're practically out of luck. I found them and didn't think they were that bad. you look cute Unfortunately, when I put them on and went for a 3 mile walk, they turned out to be a disaster. If you like walking barefoot, you will love these Ryka hiking shoes. I felt every heel strike like I was walking barefoot. The shoes come with "memory foam" inserts but these shoes seem to have amnesia as I didn't feel the "foam" at all once I put them on and started running. I don't know if I'll get them back after wearing them, but I'll definitely try. I still wonder why they were so incredibly uncomfortable.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from the testers
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
