Hot Trash in Keyboard/Mouse Combos

I literally threw away a 2004 iMac keyboard and a $10 Verbatim wired mouse for replacement until I got something useful. I'm honestly surprised it worked at all as it only took 30 minutes to register on my laptop. Wouldn't buy again and for me that's a rarity on good old Amazon. Crazy.
