Review on Dinosaur Electronics Universal Ignitor 0310 1300 by Tyler Blake

I used this to replace the ignition board on our Suburban VFDSI-6-3 water heater. It was more or less a replacement. I had to cut off a small corner of the board to fit the cover. (The original board also clearly had a crumpled corner for the same reason.) The mounting hole pattern and connectors were identical to the original board. Before the replacement, our water heater was more or less working, but took several attempts to light it up, especially if the water heater has not been used for a long time. (It usually tries to start 3 times and then stalls. After cycling, it usually lights up on the fourth or fifth try.) After replacing the ignition board, the water heater started on the first try every time. . The old board was at least 25 years old. My theory is that the electrolytic caps are starting to fail resulting in a weak spark. The Dinosaur Electronics board also produces multiple sparks on each ignition attempt, while the original board only produced one spark per attempt - maybe that helps too. In any case, I'm looking forward to it!
