Our Tivo Roamio OTA 1Tb is only a year and a half old. We didn't expect any problems with this and now we see online that a noisy fan is a common problem. (Though we didn't have a problem until a series of power outages.) I checked online why my TiVo was so loud (like a hamster in a wheel!) and was directed to another cheaper fan at Revain. I'm looking at the link below on how to open and replace the box but after reading the reviews they say the rubber connectors are broken. I tried blowing out the dust but where the fan is it doesn't help. So I went back to order and couldn't find this item again. Instead my search led to this one which IMO has way better reviews, a better mounting system (using screws instead of elastic) PLUS the required torx screwdrivers are supplied with the fan! It was all in one, everything you need and costs a few euros more compared to another fan. It wasn't difficult, but it was a little tricky opening the TiVo, unplugging, removing the motherboard to get at the fan screws, and in winter it would be wise to take precautions against static electricity, but that Best we could do was put everything you need back together, sit down at the table and stop stepping on the carpet until the project is complete. It was worth it, because the box is completely silent again! It's actually so quiet right now that I'm worried the fan isn't working at all, and I had to put my ear to the case to hear a very faint hum.
