Review on EU Electronic Digits Countdown Running by Tracey Bacon

Revainrating 4 out of 5

If it's a bit DIY it's almost perfect for timing small cross/bike races

I'm a full-time race director so finish times are important. Our Raceclock MM-01 was damaged but repair parts cost twice as much so I decided to give it a try. With many functions, it is much more flexible than MM-01: It has countdown and countdown, timer, stopwatch, multiple colors, dimmable, beep, Bluetooth remote control and app, tripod, two chargers and two remote controls. included, as well as a wire for attachment. Cons: Battery not included, not waterproof and sunlight was hard to read BUT I found a simple solution to most of these problems: - I had an extra 12V battery on hand and fiddled with the charging cable so I could it could plug into the wall and simultaneously charge the battery for later situations when it needs to run on battery power. - The LED bulbs are made of white material, so they really pop out when it's bright outside, making the numbers difficult to read. So I stuck on the rest of the window tint (I had 20% VLT from Walmart but I think 35% would work too, maybe better). That solved the readability problem pretty well! - Water resistance has yet to be tested, but I'll cover it with a clear plastic bag in wet weather and put the battery in a cheap plastic tool box. (I haven't tried the bluetooth app yet, nor have I used it long enough to vouch for durability? If this company weatherproofed it and replaced the LED bulbs with black material to keep the cost close to current hold, this watch would be just about perfect for anyone keeping track of time in small races. .

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Factor Set
