Just to be clear, I have the USB-C version of this dock. I usually look for a higher buyer rating before buying, but in this case I looked at the negative comments and decided that what others don't like doesn't apply to me. except for a moment. In my case, I have a newer monitor with an HDMI connector and an older monitor with a VGA or DVI connector, so this seemed to fit my needs. What attracted me was the ability to both power and turn on the laptop (in this case the new Dell Inspiron 7000 2-in-1) without "opening" the laptop screen. Both functions work. My wife uses a computer for her real estate business, so she's in a lot of places. She should usually have one power pack for home (keeps it on the desk all the time) and another one to take with her. Now I don't have to buy a second one. An Ethernet port means it can connect to your home network without using WIFI. We have pretty decent WIFI at home (thanks Ubiquiti), but it's still not as fast as a wired connection. The only negative review I've seen that applies to us as well as others has to do with the power button. It definitely works, making it my "real" docking station for my Dell work laptop. But when you press the button, there's a serious lag between that and the start on screen. In that sense, it's frustratingly slow. And that's why I'm deducting a star in this review. I almost give it a head start because I don't think a USB-C connection will be any faster than it is. May be. Even if it's slow going, I recommend this product for people in the "right situation". You should definitely know what the device does and in which situations it makes sense. To me it's a Dell machine running in a Dell environment (both laptop and monitors). I haven't had any issues with drivers or anything like that. Plugged it in and it worked right away. So far very satisfied. (I just plugged it in 30 minutes ago.)
