I will use the third try. Good things first: I like the design; braided nylon to provide flexibility while protecting the core of the cable, and the angled connector on one end is a smart addition for the same reason. The length is perfect for a headset on an iPhone/MBP/iPad. Overall, the material and design appear to be of high quality. I'm using it to replace the cable in my Beats Solo headsets - from the looks of it they are vastly superior to the Beats OEM cable in design and features (which were terrible at that price!). Now the disappointing part: my first cable lasted about 3 months before an internal short circuit led to the voice function being completely switched off during important customer appointments (zoom/telephone). At the same time, when used with my computer (MBP), the cable started tricking iTunes into launching itself during (mainly VOIP and Zoom) calls on the computer. Since I don't (usually) attend customer calls with my iPhone or iPad using this cable, I can't tell if there are any problems there. It was a maddening and unexpected "feature". As soon as I received my second new cable, the problems were resolved. About a week or two. This second cable causes the same problems as the first with my MBP and Zoom. I have to admit that if I wasn't so crazy about the design and the lack of similar options on the market (that I can find) I wouldn't try the third try, but it is. However 3 strikes as they said. and I'm left without a working cable for my Beats or, for that matter, my primary way of connecting them to my laptop for work. I'm hoping this time to get the ones others say will stand the test of time (I'm actually considering ordering 2 this time, hoping one of the two lasts!). Otherwise, I have clients continually listen to the opening bars of Aaron Copland's "Fanfare for the Common Man" whenever that cable decides to trigger an accidental launch of iTunes. Perhaps appropriate, given the circumstances! ;)
