Make sure you don't have much space between the doors or it won't work. They are easy to open and close with one hand, which is handy as we used to have locks that went through handles and required two hands to open. They are faster and less cumbersome to use. Haven't had to take them off yet, but it seems they should come off without damage if you heat the adhesive up a bit (e.g. with a hair dryer) before removing. I like these locks over hidden magnetic locks because if someone is in your house and doesn't know you have hidden magnetic locks, they could damage your closet if they try to pry open the doors. It's easy for others to see and use, and at the same time it's not a huge eyesore. These are by far the most convenient cabinet locks I've ever used!
