The unit works reasonably well and is easy to carry, especially with the lanyard. I've used it in the woods a few times and it's accurate enough to get you back to your starting point with reasonable accuracy. I only gave it 4 stars because the accuracy of the device is not as accurate as I expected. Don't get me wrong, it gets you close enough to your starting point to get back home, but it's not uncommon to find yourself taking multiple measurements in the same location and getting a slightly different compass reading each time. It's okay if you're just trying to get back to your car after a long walk through the woods in a village. But for long distance hunting deep in the woods in the real wilderness I will continue to rely on my other very accurate GPS units. I take this device with me as a backup and because it is very easy to use. Just take it out and look at the readings. However, if you're looking for pinpoint GPS accuracy, this device isn't for you.
