Has a useful life of no more than two years.

This is my third purchase of this cable for my SE846s. Most headphones today are wireless, but I've stuck with this Shure because I've spent a fortune on them and they actually sound good. However, Shure cables are terrible. I don't abuse mine or use them while exercising. I have to use them 2-3 times a week for a maximum of 30 minutes each time. But they keep breaking. I lose sound in one headphone or have interference in both. When I change the cables, they are perfect. Here I am again, buying another cable. So it sucks.
